Today's Review: Wonka Runts

Another Wonka product lost to the UK market due to whatever health and safety reason, Runts are sweets that I certainly remember picking up during my childhood. You may have been able to pick them up from your favourite import sweet shop, but now you can also grab a box from Poundland (sometimes)!

Look at that, they're shaped like the fruits they taste like, isn't that great? Yes, these are tiny, fruit shaped, hard candies, in a way they're kind of like a larger version of Nerds, but due to their increased size I find the insides to be quite powdery and somewhat gritty. The flavours are good, sure, the banana tastes like banana, the grape tastes like grape, the snozzberry tastes like snozzberry... Whoops, wrong Wonka. But yeah, while I can crunch down Nerds like nobody's business, I've never been a huge fan of Runts. It seems the exteriors are very hard to bite down on, and once you're in you're greeted with an overly sweet, powdery texture, and while the fruit flavours are there they're somewhat drowned out by the innards. Runts are okay, but there are certainly better Wonka products out there. If you see a box in Poundland though, by all means give them a go.

My rating: 3/5
