Today's Review: Maoam Rhuberry Pinballs

Haribo recently released "frenzy" editions of their Supermix and Tangfastics sweets, swapping out the flavours of each sweet with an interesting new fruity one. Now they've done the same with Pinballs, except it seems like their heart wasn't in it. They're all the same, apart from the red one, which is now a mixture of rhubarb and strawberry, named rhuberry, funnily enough.

I was a little disappointed that I had to buy a whole bag for just one different flavour, but they're Pinballs, so it's no big loss really. The rhuberry is what I came for though, and it's pretty good. As soon as I took a bite, a very intense rhubarb flavour came through. It's sharp and fruity, and a lot more pronounced than the rhubarb and custard splats that appeared in Tangfastics a while back. It does get a bit too much after a while, and becomes quite sickly. The strawberry is on hand to level out the flavour, but it doesn't quite do enough, the rhubarb is still pretty overwhelming. But hey, it's still a good flavour, it's just a little too much. It's a nice new Maoam variety that is worth trying out while it's still around.

My rating: 4/5
