Today's Review: Cadbury Joy Fills Choco Cookie Creme

This is an odd new product from Cadbury, a share bag of wheat pillows with a chocolate filling. Not quite on the same level as a bag of buttons, but they looked interesting enough. Sort of like Cadbury's version of Krave. Thing is, that's a cereal, and this is a bag of snacks. So how do these measure up?

These aren't great. They are pretty similar to Krave, but you wouldn't want to eat them dry either. There's a lot of wheat here, and not enough filling to make up for it. The bag says "choco cookie creme", but there's not a whole lot of cookie, the chocolate chips in the outer layer aren't really noticeable. The filling is nice enough, creamy and chocolatey, but that dry wheat really dampens it. I couldn't take it after a while, I went full on Krave and dumped the rest of the bag in a bowl with some milk. These taste significantly better in cereal form, but not much better than the actual cereal versions. Plus these are £1.50 for a small bag, so you're just better off getting your favourite supermarket's off brand pillows.

My rating: 2/5

  1. Bought some today as a treat to try, after all on the packaging it said 'New'. Disappointed. My first thought looking at them was how small they are and reminded me a cat treats. Having eaten one, the wheat content vs the cookie creme content doesn't add up and I agree with the post above; open a bag, pour some milk, grab a spoon and have for breakfast. Sorry Cadbury, but these aren't up to your usual treats.

  2. These really are terrible. Agree entirely with comment above - I also described them 'cat treats'! How on earth has Cadburys come up with such a disaster of a product? Inedible. I predict they will be discontinued within weeks!

  6. Yes, they look like cat food! No they don't taste good! The label suggests they can be eaten dry! But honestly after eating 2 out 3 my tongue is attached to the top of my mouth!! For a company that normally gets it right. This is a terrible step in the wrong direction!! Score 1 out of 10

  7. THESE ARE LITERALLY THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER EATEN! We love that they taste exactly like Cocoa Puffs cereal (I & my coworkers opining here are American), and the lack of a need for milk is a real plus! I am deeply upset I cannot order these in the US, though that's probably for the best, as I could eat 4 bags in a sitting.
