Today's Review: Tesco Black Forest Cookies

Another festive bakery offering from Tesco today, and this one is definitely more seasonal than the red velvet muffins I looked at the other day. They follow the same theme as the other filled cookies that have popped up in previous years, except the cookies are chocolate and the filling is cherry jam, hence the black forest. How very festive.

Despite them being more Christmassy in nature, I can't say I enjoyed these more than the red velvet muffins. The chocolate cookies are okay, chewy and quite flavoursome, but a little bland and dry. The jam goes some way to alleviate it, but there's not all that much of it, and it's quite dark and not all that sweet. The cookie tends to overwhelm it, and overall it's quite a dry experience. A chocolate cookie with a hint of fruit, but just not that tasty overall. Hopefully some of the other bakery goods will put me more in the festive spirit.

My rating: 2/5
