Today's Review: Chicago Town Chocolate Dessert Pizza

A chocolate pizza may sound like a novel idea, but the Goodfella's one has been around for a little while now. Now it's Chicago Town's go to have a crack at it, and I think competition would be nice, since the Goodfella's wasn't all that fantastic. This has been around for a few weeks now, but it's finally on offer in Tesco for £2, so I took the plunge. So here we have another go at a frozen chocolate pizza, this time featuring a chocolatey base, topped with chocolate sauce and white and dark chocolate chunks. Just pop it in the oven for ten minutes and you're good to go.

This is a pretty good dessert actually, I'll say that right off the bat. All that chocolate may sound like overload, but it's handled pretty well. The sauce isn't laid on thick, and while it does get a little sickly, it's not a major issue as long as you're sharing the pizza. You are sharing it, right? The chocolate chunks add some differing flavours while still adding to the chocolatey goodness, and even the base is a pretty good offering in this case. It has something of a brownie-like texture, and while it is a little stodgy, it's a pretty decent attempt at a sweet crust that works well with the toppings. This is a very chocolatey treat, and the box says it's a limited edition, so try it out while it's still around.

My rating: 4/5
