Today's Review: Maxibon Cookies & Cream

It's been a slow week as far as stuffing my face goes, so I dug up one of my Spanish acquisitions that has managed to sneak under my review radar. You probably thought I was done, but think again. No one expects the Spanish acquisitions. I'm sorry, that was terrible.

So here we have the Maxibon Cookies & Cream. Instead of being a heavenly ice cream sandwich like its flawless brethren, this treat takes on a more Cornetto-like form. Indeed, it is much like a Cornetto Enigma, full of nice, creamy ice cream, but with a saucy chocolate centre. On top, there are some nice, chunky pieces of cookie. There's also cookie bits interspersed with the ice cream, because you can never have enough cookie.

It sounds good, but overall I wasn't blown away. It's nice, sure, but it's just too much like a Cornetto, and Walls ice cream is superior to Nestle's. The chocolate tip at the bottom of the cone was bigger than that of a Cornetto, I must admit, but once I'd made my way through this ice cream I just wished I had gone for the classic Maxibon sandwich. A nice treat, but there's better stuff out there.

My rating: 4/5
