Today's Review: Cheestrings Scoffies: The Purple One

Tucked among the Babybels and Lunchables, I was surprised to find a Cheestrings product I haven't seen before, and it's quite an interesting looking one at that. It's a variety of snacks bundled into one box, like a little Graze selection box for your packed lunch. They come in several varieties, all featuring cheese chunks, but with various things to pair them with, such as crackers, pretzels, fruit pieces and biscuits. I went with the purple one, which features cherry strings, biscuits and chocolate raisins, because they all sounded pretty good.

This is a nice little concept, I must say. It's like a Lunchable mixed with trail mix. Whether you work your way from top to bottom, or mix up the cheese with any of the other stuff, it all works pretty well together. The crackers may be a little on the bland side, and the cheese possesses that slight rubbery texture you'd expect from the snacking cheese section, but they still make for a good quick snack. The stuff in the bottom compartment was good, the cherry strings are surprisingly fruity, and the chocolate raisins are of a decent enough quality. The biscuit is slightly salted, and it brings out some nice flavour, especially when paired with the strings or raisins, or even the cheese. This is a neat little package of some good snacking bits that would fit well in any lunchbox, be it for child or adult. I'll most likely try out the other varieties in the near future.

My rating: 4/5
