Today's Review: Red Bull Tropical Edition

With the cornucopia of flavoured energy drinks lining the shelves, Red Bull have been a little slow on the uptake. Sure, there were the coloured editions of a couple of years ago, but apart from that the drinks have remained a steady energy drink flavour. But now there's a tropical variety on the scene, and I couldn't resist snapping it up.

"Tropical" is the best way to describe this, apparently, as there's no real indication of which fruits it's meant to taste like. Still, I guess "tropical" is a flavour in itself now, and this can does taste like it. A predominantly citrusy drink, mostly orangey, but with hints of other such as pineapple and guava. It's certainly not the best tropical flavour out there, but it's pretty nice in energy drink form. The best part is that the flavouring detracts from the energy drink taste, and actually makes for a pretty refreshing beverage. It's a neat twist on the regular Red Bull that isn't perfect, but is still pretty tasty.

My rating: 4/5
