Today's Review: Jacob's Cracker Crisps Roast Chicken, Thyme & Lemon

I love Jacob's Cracker Crisps. They have a great texture, and a lot of flavouring packed in, the salt & vinegar variety are one of my absolute favourites. Now I see they're doing seasonal flavours, which I heartily approve of, especially if they bring them out as regularly as Kettle Chips do. I was a little put off at the thought of this roast chicken flavour, not being a fan of meat flavoured crisps. But the thyme and lemon parts drew me in, and I had to snag a bag. They are limited edition after all. I grabbed these from Morrisons for 90p

I'm glad I took the plunge, these things are delicious. Instead of being a predominantly chicken flavour, each element is well represented and balanced. The chicken flavouring is pretty authentic, as evidenced by the actual roast chicken present in the ingredients. A good meaty flavour, obviously not as good as the real thing, but I was distracted from any potential shortcomings by the lemon and thyme. There's a great, ever-present citrus kick, and a nice herby hint that really rounds it all out. A pretty fantastic effort, well worth picking up while they're around. I'm looking forward to seeing what else Jacob's can do.

My rating: 5/5
