Today's Review: McDonald's Fiery Buffalo Chicken Wrap

It's a new McDonald's wrap! That's a pretty poor picture up there, but what can I say, I went to the drive-thru. So while you may not be able to see there, this wrap contains chicken strips, lettuce, pepper jack cheese, onions and buffalo sauce. It's spicy, I'll give it that, a very decent hot sauce that made me pause a little. Definitely more than I was expecting from a McDonald's wrap, but with the level of heat there's also an absence of flavour. The rest of the ingredients make up for it, making it a decent enough effort overall, but the sauce just doesn't do it for me. I appreciate the heat, but with that famous buffalo name, I was expecting something tastier.

My rating: 3/5

  1. Not sure if the 1am late shift McDonald's workers were trying to kill me or if that's how it's supposed to be... Had to take a 10 minute break half way through to let my mouth cool down... and I'm usually OK with hot food.

  2. Hotter than a vindaloo. Too hot to taste

  3. I am usually OK with spicy food, but this was far too much, and it spoilt the rest of my meal, as my mouth was still on fire, and I'd drunk a whole large drink just dowsing down the heat. Its supposed to be a McDonald's sandwich not a food trial on American TV seeing who can do the most dangerous thing

    1. The 'Fiery' Buffalo Chicken wrap. It couldn't be any clearer that this wrap containing chicken, may be spicy.

  6. I love the wraps but this new one was awful. Way too spicy and had to sip my juice to cool my mouth and lips down aswell as hold icecream in my mouth. Worst wrap ever to come out of McDonalds. No flavour just burn and it was overflowing in sause so the whole wrap was ruined.

  9. Just had one... Yep, way too hot and I'm pretty sure not what you'd call a buffalo sauce (I call it Franks Hot sauce with melted butter), more like a bad habenero sauce with sweeteners. Didn't enjoy it. :(

  13. Really good quality ingredients, but the sauce is “too” hot to make the wrap enjoyable. I like hot pepper sauce but this just spoils it

  14. Never buy this again! Samyeang noodles that is known as one of worlds most spicy food and been to social media challenges is kinda addicting because still justifies its good taste but this chicken wrap swimming with very hot cornstarched chilli sauce has no flavour at all! Just killed my tastebud and ruined our simple family meal. Needed to order 2 large moccha frap to combat the heat. Just felt like being poisoned today. No way!! Sorry, this is not for me.

  15. There's way too much sauce in the wrap which makes it way too hot and makes it dominate the whole wrap. The distribution of the sauce was off too as half of my wrap was sauce-less whilst the other half was caked in sauce.
I genuinely had to stand over a tap for about 30 minutes to wash the spice away.

    1. Many people enjoy it. You're just not as turf as you thought you were when it comes to spicy food. I bet that vindaloo taste like a salad now. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
