Today's Review: Häagen-Dazs Blueberries & Cream

I feel the blueberry doesn't get the love it deserves. Sure, it's commonplace in muffins, but it's only lately I've seen it turn up in other products. Now Häagen-Dazs have delivered in the form of this blueberry ice cream. Yes, it's ice cream, not sorbet, it's a "blueberries & cream" flavour, so I was expecting something more decadent than your standard fruity frozen dessert.

There's not too much to say to describe this. It's blueberry ice cream with blueberries in it, and it all tastes a lot like blueberries. So there you go, blueberry haters need not apply. The ice cream itself is very creamy, probably because of the cream... but yes, it still packs a fruity flavour, although it is diminished a little bit by the dairy. The embedded blueberries are a nice touch, they add a bit of tartness and more of a fruity kick, and they taste surprisingly fresh considering they're been frozen in ice cream. This is a damn good blueberry ice cream, simple, yet effective.

My rating: 4/5
